Story
Hi friends and family,
In real estate, we are often the ones sitting across the table from people at some of the most vulnerable moments in their lives. Lately, we are seeing more and more older women who are genuinely worried about where they are going to live.
Women who have raised families, worked hard, and never imagined they would find themselves in this position.
As the REIQ Gold Coast team, we felt we couldn’t just see this happening and do nothing.
This is our second year bringing a team together on the Gold Coast for the Live Like Her Challenge and it feels more important than ever.
For one night, we will be sleeping in our cars to help raise awareness and funds for The Forgotten Women project, which supports homeless women over 55.
This is a cause that really matters to us, not just professionally, but personally as well.

The Forgotten Women
The Forgotten Women is Mangrove Community Homes' flagship project, a unique, grassroots housing initiative dedicated to women over 55 experiencing homelessness - the fastest growing cohort in Australia today. The Forgotten Women's mission is simple: to put a safe roof over the heads of as many vulnerable older women as possible. Through the acquisition of suitable properties, the project provides secure, safe, affordable housing that enables older women to age in place with security, stability and dignity.
