This year, I'm stepping out of my comfort zone and into my car  for a night. Why? Because too many women over 55 are doing this not by choice, but because they have nowhere else to go.

On Thursday, 10th September 2026, I'll be taking part in the Live Like Her Challenge, sleeping in my car for one night to raise awareness and much-needed funds for The Forgotten Women Foundation.

This incredible initiative is dedicated to helping older women escape homelessness and find safe, secure housing where they can age with dignity.

These women are mums, nannas, sisters, and friends. Many have worked their entire lives, raised families, and contributed to our communities. Yet through no fault of their own, whether it's relationship breakdown, job loss, health issues, or simply rising living costs, they now face one of life's harshest realities: having no place to call home.

A cause that's deeply personal to me.

As a woman, a mother, a grandmother, and a great-grandmother, I know how important it is to feel safe and supported in your home. No one should have to spend their later years in fear or uncertainty.

This year, I'm proud to once again be part of the REIQ Gold Coast team. Last year, our incredible Gold Coast community raised just over $100,000 and this year we're aiming even higher, with a goal of $150,000. Together, we're uniting for a cause that's very close to our hearts.
